Progressive Legal Solutions (PLS) is expanding We have the first office in Barrie, Ontario serving Simcoe County. We are excited to announce the opening of our second office in Richmond Hill, serving clients at courthouses in Newmarket, Toronto, and throughout the GTA and Simcoe County. We are actively seeking dedicated, enthusiastic professionals to join our growing team.

PLS specializes exclusively in Family Law, especially litigation and trial work.

**Position Overview**:

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Represent clients in court, mediation sessions, and negotiation proceedings in family law matters
- Conduct thorough legal research using platforms such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Draft various legal documents including separation agreements, prenuptial agreements, and cohabitation agreements
- Prepare essential pleadings such as Applications, Answers, Briefs, and Motions, adhering strictly to Family Law Rules
- Assist in trial preparation, including document preparation and witness coaching, alongside principal lawyers
- Provide informed legal advice to clients, clearly communicating their rights and obligations under applicable legislation
- Stay informed about evolving laws, regulations, and trends relevant to family law practice
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to manage cases efficiently
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by senior lawyers

**Qualifications**:

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; Canadian law school graduates preferred
- Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum 3 years of post-call experience (but 2 years of post-call experience may be considered)
- Family law trial and court litigation experience are required
- Familiarity with litigation rules and procedures in Central East and Toronto regions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal matters clearly
- Excellent analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining strict client confidentiality
