Position Summary
- The Data Quality Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Senior Analyst by providing clinical and utilization data to facilitate the development and interpretation of information to support effective decision making and reporting. This role assists in the coordination of data quality activities and audits related to the preparation of the hospital’s clinical, statistical and financial data submissions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides clinical and utilization data to facilitate the development and interpretation of information to support effective decision making and reporting at all program levels
- Identifies data challenges and facilitates resolution of processes and procedures
- Extracts data from various databases to populate indicators on scorecards, dashboards, and providing interpretations of data.
- Prepare submissions and reconciliations for hospital data submissions
- Collaboratively with Health Records, Finance and Registration: develops, performs and monitors clinical data audit and integrity functions ensuring that data is collected and submitted in accordance with MOH and CIHI standards
- Proactively seeks resolution to issues, recommends process changes/edits and facilitates implementation of required changes and/or systems.
- Prepares regular monthly Decision Support reports, scorecards and dashboards
- Assists and supports Decision Support Analysts with ad-hoc clinical information requests
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the direct manager.
**Qualifications**:
- Education:
- College Diploma in healthcare related discipline or Business required
- Discern Analytics 2.0 report writing certification required
- Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards Level 1 and 2 preferred
**Experience**:
- Minimum five (5) years’ Acute care hospital experience is required
- Discern Analytics 2.0 report writing experience required
- Preference given to those who possess:
- Three to five (3 - 5) years’ experience in Registration, Scheduling and Health Records
- Two (2) years’ experience in Wait Time Information System reporting and compliance
Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge of CERNER Hospital Information Management System
- Demonstrated ability utilizing Discern Analytics 2.0, Crystal Reports, iPORT Access, IDS and Tableau
- Advanced demonstrated ability utilizing Microsoft Office (MS Access, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Advanced knowledge of Wait Time Information System submission and compliance reporting
- Knowledge of MOHLTC policies including MIS guidelines, CIHI requirements
- Knowledge of MOHLTC funding methodologies, specifically GEM and QBP
- Skilled in data analysis and database management
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal.

- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, strong problem solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously
