**Overview**

We are seeking a Part-Time Phonics program Instructor, who will play a vital role in helping young learners develop essential reading and phonics skills. You will create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters a love for reading and supports literacy development for students typically ranging from pre-kindergarten to grade 2/3.

**Responsibilities**

  • Teach phonics and early literacy skills to students in pre-kindergarten through grade 2/3, using engaging and age-appropriate methods.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that focus on phonemic awareness, blending, segmenting, and reading simple words.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching resources, including games, songs, and hands-on activities, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and provide strategies for reinforcing learning at home.

**Experience**

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience teaching phonics or early literacy to young children is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of phonics principles and effective instructional strategies for early learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a fun, interactive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
