**Job Summary**

Kids Great Minds provides fun computer learning courses specifically designed for children, teens and their learning styles. We are currently hiring enthusiastic, responsible, and dynamic Instructors to join our team for the upcoming recreation programs for children and youth across York Region (Richmond Hill, Markham, Newmarket, Aurora).

Instructors deliver in-house developed technology courses that teach children a range of skills in math, science, engineering, coding and art. KGM instructors have a unique blend of professionalism and a minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching STEM. They also have a genuine desire to work with children and teens, while being flexible, patient, energetic, tolerant and ready to have fun Our instructors work closely with the Program Supervisor for logístical and professional development.

**Work Schedule**

Shifts will be scheduled based on this availability but not necessarily every day.

Expected Hours: 20-30 per week

**Key Responsibilities**
- Utilize the curriculum and resources provided by KGM, ensuring a fun, organized, and rewarding experience for all students
- Teach key concepts using a variety of methods (hands-on, group activities, etc.)
- Teach with passion, structure and expertise while guiding students through the completion of a personal project and making the class fun
- Collaborate, guide and oversee one or more Assistant Instructors/Volunteers who will assist you in creating an amazing experience for the students
- Take part in staff meetings
- Engage with students to ensure they are safe and having fun
- Responsible for classroom setup and turnover, sign-in and safe departure procedures, and completion of all required forms.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- 3-5 years’ experience teaching STEM programs, ideally in an instructional/classroom setting.
- Experience in coding instruction is required.
- Experience working with children or youth (including those with special needs).
- Energetic, patient, flexible, and genuinely enjoy working with kids.
- Quick learners and open to training in new software and technologies.
- Proficient in Google Workspace.
- Experience or knowledge in any of the following areas is considered an asset: : Game Design & Development, Programming (Scratch, Python, etc.), 3D Modeling & Design, Computer Animation, Robotics, Virtual Reality or App Development.

*Note: KGM provides full training and detailed lesson plans.

**Requirements**:

- Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (must be able to transport course equipment).
- Current CPR -C /First Aid certification and HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (14 days before start).
- Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) (14 days before start).
- Must complete online and in-person training and onboarding documents prior to program start.
