**Core Responsibilities**:
- Setting up, maintaining, and auditing a safety management system. Monitor worker compliance with system
- Ensuring that WorkSafe BC regulations are followed
- Help support the business with injury management expertise
- Coach employees on safe working practices
- Collect and analyze safety data, and make recommendations
- Projects as assigned by the Manager and VP of Operational Excellence
- Facilitating yearly hearing test and organizing regular fire drills
- Developing an emergency preparedness plan
- Act as a member of the safety committee
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of safety and food safety management
- Ability to formulate and express ideas clearly and effectively in verbal and written presentations
- Strong influencing and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experienced in using Lean principles and tools including 5 whys, fishbone diagram, elimination of waste, 5S and kaizens
