**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, this exciting opportunity will provide you with meaningful hands-on work experience and valuable skills. As a key member of the Human Resources team, the Talent Acquisition Assoicate (TAA) is responsible and accountable for the coordination and administering recruitment, selection activities. Working closely with the Talent Acquisition Partner, the TAA contributes to the development, promotion and delivery of recruitment strategies as assigned.

What will you do?

Ensures all pre-employment and post employment verifications/documentation is received and validated.

Work closely with Talent Acquisition Partners to support sourcing strategies, including supporting social media strategies.

Participates and supports various recruitment initiatives including, representing the Region at career fairs, development of internal and external recruitment outreach events, etc.

Reviews, enters and validates employee data into various HR Systems, including but not limited to entering new hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, etc.

Creates and maintains employee files in accordance with policies and procedures.

Responsible for data integrity of employee information entered in HRIS

Assists and supports various Talent Acquisition related projects as required

Participates in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies, procedures and programs

Ensure compliance with employment laws, privacy legislation, recruitment policies, processes and procedures.

**Skills and Abilities**:
Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) an asset.

Knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, methods and techniques, with emphasis on recruitment.

Solid analytical skills to review and assess applicants, and to conduct trend analysis and produce recruitment metrics.

Problem-solving skills along with sound judgement to assess and resolve/escalate issues.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.

Solid time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team or individually with mínimal supervision.

Ability to travel within and occasionally outside Waterloo Region.

Ability to support and demonstrate the Region’s values.

**Qualifications**:
Designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is an asset.

Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

Knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, methods and techniques, with emphasis on recruitment.

Solid analytical skills to review and assess applicants, and to conduct trend analysis and produce recruitment metrics.

Advanced problem-solving skills along with sound judgement to assess and resolve/escalate issues.
