**Position Overview**
SUMMARY:
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in middle management as an asset.
Recent clinical experience in Medical/Surgical unit.
Member of the College of Nurses of Ontario or current registration with relevant professional college.
**Skills**:Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change.
Ability to supervise personnel and communicate the portfolio’s needs and patient care services mission.
Demonstrated clinical skills and judgment in an acute setting.
Advocate for professional practice, patient/family centered quality care.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem solve and implement change management
Excellent people, time management, conflict management, financial management and organization skills;
The Clinical Manager must be able to understand the LEAN philosophy in order to participate in projects that improve care and achieve positive impacts on transitions and changes.
Demonstrated ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands, expectations and deadlines.
Manage overtime approval and employee re-deployment
Highly computer literate and skilled in use of MS Office
Knowledge of CUPE and ONA collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment
Good communication skills in French and English, both oral and written
HOURS OF WORK:
Regular Full-time - 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with occasional, additional time for such a management position.
**Criminal Check**
As a pre-condition of employment:
- All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
- As of now, HGH will require all employees, physicians, learners, contractors and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
