**The Role**:
The Compliance Officer takes on the role of both a quality assurance specialist and inspector, as well as serving a liaison function with OPRs that have a signed Service Agreement with SCS; this is inclusive of programs that are subsidized by SCS with a signed contract, protocol or agreement.

Reporting directly to the Director of Support Services, the Compliance Officer works under the authority of the Service Agreement, a service contract between SCS and Outside Paid Resources (OPRs), ensuring that the expected provisions of service and care is provided within the legislative requirements and the guiding principles set forth under the SIPDDA legislation, Ministry directives, as well as other relevant legislations.

**The responsibilities you will be trusted with include**:

- Complete annual compliance assessments for each OPR site and/or program as per the Ontario Regulation 299/10 in the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 (SIPDDA), as well as other related legislative standards. This process, whether a residential or community participation program, includes but is not limited to the following:

- Complete on-site reviews of program specific records and documentation, physical site inspections, review policy & procedure documentation, complete a record of corrective actions and responses.
- Collaborate with the OPRs in developing a plan to mitigate risks and corrective actions to meet compliance.
- Consult with current and upcoming OPRs
- Complete internal reporting on the compliance of OPRs and service providers.
- Develop and facilitate internal and external training sessions.
- Collaboration with regional partners for the planning and completion of compliance assessments of some programs.
- Maintain accurate metrics
- Attend internal team meetings, as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**About Us**:
Service Coordination Support (SCS) is the initial contact for individuals who have a developmental disability or autism in the Ottawa and the Eastern Region. We help people find the supports and services in the community that are needed to assist them in their daily lives. One of our important goals is to empower families/individuals to make informed choices about the supports they seek.

**What you bring**:

- A minimum of 3 years of work within the developmental services sector
- Experience in managing/leading compliance and quality assurance work is an asset
- A BSW, DSW, or SSW diploma educational background is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong analytical, research, reasoning and facilitation skills.
- Strong knowledge of the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 (SIPDDA), to include the Ontario Regulation 299/10, and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA) is a requirement.
- Proficient in both official languages - written and spoken.
- Knowledge of other related legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong strategic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle for business travel.

**Working Conditions**:
A significant portion of the work is completed at the sites managed by the OPRs and service providers, and requires local travel. Work is generally scheduled and priorities established in advance. SCS provides protective personal equipment and training the use of this equipment.
