**About the role**
As a Compliance Officer, Insurance you will be responsible for administering CDIC's differential premium framework, member institution regulatory filings, and monitoring member compliance with certain by-laws.
This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto office, following a hybrid model approach. This is a TERM opportunity with possibility of extension.
**We trust you will be up to the challenge**
- The administration of the Differential Premiums (DP) system and the Return of Insured Deposits, including annual reviews, and any comprehensive reviews of the related by-laws, forms and related materials, and analysis of submissions made by member institutions and the scoring of member institutions under the system.
- Monitoring and enforcement of member institution compliance with critical requirements, such as the terms and conditions of the Policy of Deposit Insurance, the Deposit Insurance Information by-law, and the Data and System Requirements by-law.
- The determination of product eligibility for deposit insurance; contributing to developing and updating CDIC by-laws that impact member institutions, including consultations with member institutions and other stakeholders.
- In close collaboration with other departments within CDIC (e.g., Finance, Risk Assessment, Internal Audit), test, maintain and ensure the robustness and integrity of key processes, tools and documents related to the Differential Premiums System.
- Analyze and review data and documentation submitted by member institutions (such as banks), reconcile the data against various sources and investigate discrepancies in order to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Update and maintain guidance and instructions for member institutions and develop, maintain and suggest enhancements to internal tools, databases and processes.
- Monitor member compliance with requirements under various CDIC by-laws. Communicate with senior officials of member institutions on compliance, assist member institutions, and provide or obtain further clarification.
- Under the guidance of the Manager, Insurance, assist in formulating responses to queries from member institutions and the public and prepare reports and draft correspondence for senior management.
- Assist with the onboarding of new member institutions or the exit of existing member institutions where required.

**We trust you will bring your expertise**
- Degree (baccalaureate or a higher-level degree) from a recognized university.
- 3-5 years of practical experience related to the role.
- Experience working with internal or external auditors is an asset.
- Experience with financial reporting and financial analysis (experience in the financial services sector is an asset).
- Experience in the use and maintenance of automated databases.
- Demonstrated ability to model statistical relationships, carry out appropriate diagnostics around modelling assumptions, and evaluate the relative performance of models generated.
- Excellent organizational and research skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with a strong focus on getting results.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion whether dealing with member institutions, the public, CDIC staff or staff of other agencies within the financial safety net.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages are an asset.
