Environmental Compliance Officer

Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: You will: - Independently conduct complex inspections, assess compliance, prepare and review technical reports across a wide variety of media/sector-based program areas. - Respond to environmental events, conduct follow-up to achieve compliance, including monitoring and reporting on potential impacts to the environment. - Identify, analyze and evaluate complex environmental problems and solutions where causes may not be immediately obvious. - Provide technical expertise and advice on environmental legislation requirements - Recommend remedial and/or legal action and ensure implementation of compliance programs - Testify in legal proceedings; prepare and issue Provincial Officer's Orders - Maintain effective liaison with stakeholders, the general public and clients - Participate in the Environmental Response Program outside of regular business hours.
