Accounting Technician

**Job Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**
- **1. Bookkeeping**
- Record daily financial transactions
- Maintain general ledgers and trial balances
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
**2. Accounts Payable & Receivable**
- Process invoices and issue payments to suppliers
- Track incoming payments and follow up on overdue accounts
- Prepare and send customer invoices
**3. Payroll Support**
- Assist with payroll processing
- Calculate deductions (tax, CPP, EI, etc.)
- Maintain employee records for pay and benefits
**4. Tax Preparation**
- Prepare and file HST/GST returns
- Assist with corporate or personal tax return documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations
**5. Financial Reporting**
- Prepare financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Generate monthly or quarterly reports for management
- Analyze variances and assist in budget preparation
**6. Audit Assistance**
- Organize documents for internal or external audits
- Respond to auditor queries
- Ensure documentation complies with company and regulatory standards
**7. Software & Systems**
- Use accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Rotessa, ADP Payroll, and Microsoft Office
- Manage databases and cloud-based financial systems
**Skills**
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- University or college graduate from an Accounting or related program
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
