**POSITION OVERVIEW**

We are seeking an individual with education or experience in preparation of financial statements and /or corporate tax returns to join us as an **Accounting Technician** in our London, Ontario office.

Our Accounting Technician is someone who: has experience with T2 preparation, maintains a high level of attention to detail, is talented in providing outstanding customer service, collaborates with the team to deliver results, and provides accounting and tax advice to our valued Members.

Reporting to the Accounting Team Leader, our Accounting Technician is a key member of our branch who works to _make life less taxing_ for Farm and Small Business owners. In addition to preparing adjusting entries and tax returns, our Accounting Technician reviews financial statements, ensuring that everything is in order, and occasionally needs to prepare them on a manual basis.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

As an Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for:

- Preparing private corporate returns for farms and small business
- Preparing accurate financial statements
- Reviewing of personal tax returns
- Identifying errors or potential problems in financial data and reports
- Preparing T-slips including T5's, T4’a, T5013
- Verifying information submitted by the Member Services Team

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Top notch attention to detail
- Outstanding customer service and well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- An aptitude for learning to use internal databases and computer systems
- A strong sense of team - and capable of performing independently
- A strong work ethic

**Education and Experience**
- An Accounting Diploma or an equivalent amount of relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience with Canadian Income Tax (T2) preparation is preferable
- 2+ years of experience with financial statement preparation is preferable
- Familiarity with Tax Prep, Tax Cycle and Microsoft Office software is an asset
