As an Accounting Technician you will be operating in a fast-paced environment with ties to both GRS Administration and Client Cash Management. The Accounting Technician is responsible for business decision support related to accounting and investment interfaces and ensures effective and appropriate accounting and financial controls are in place.

What you will do

  • Cash and asset reconciliations and processes for our directly held stock clients including preparation of cash settlement and banking for stock trades for both NYSE and TSX
  • Daily processing stock trades requests (start @ 2pm EST)
  • Reconciliation and clearing of general ledger accounts, including suspense accounts for various business lines using advanced Excel and Access techniques
  • Preparing and processing of journal vouchers relating to various accounting activities and processing cheques
  • Investigation and resolution of accounting issues including manipulation and analysis of large amounts of data
  • Assisting Administration departments on accounting issues
  • Miscellaneous duties include daily cash settlement, provide quarterly financial suspense reports to Corporate Finance, initiate investigation with system support
  • Handling inquiries and requests from multiple audiences
  • Providing supporting coverage to other roles on the team

  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Self-motivated, strong team commitment, and able to work with limited direction

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

The base salary for this position is between $40,400 - $54,700 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
