Controller, Gm

The Controller will have direct line reporting to GM Controllership and dotted line reporting to the joint venture CFO.

**The Controller is Expected to**:

- Drive and support the design, testing and implementation of the JV's accounting and reporting processes, systems, controls and staffing
- Work closely with the JV leadership team inclusive of the JV CEO and CFO as well as the GM Controllership team and the POSCO accounting and IT teams
- Oversee all aspects of the financial statement close, consolidation, and accounting functions
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external (SEC) financial statements and reports
- Coordinate all activities with external auditors
- Provide monthly and quarterly financial statement reviews of actual performance
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic growth projects
- Ownership of accounting review, including ensuring compliance with GM Corporate policies (ie. Senior Management DOA) on all material contracts and services
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance
- Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks and issues
- Develop and maintain process flow documentation
- Hire, train, coach, develop and evaluate employees as necessary
- Model GM's desired behaviors including safety
- Actively promote GM's culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion

**Work Experience, Managerial and Technical Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or finance
- CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant)
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in accounting/finance
- Experience with design and implementation of accounting systems, processes, and controls
- Familiarity with GM's accounting processes including consolidation, financial reporting, etc (preferred)
- Proven ability to operate and collaborate cross functionally
- Experience in developing, leading, and coaching a team
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities where problems are complex
- Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints.

- Experience in a startup environment or experience working in a production environment
- This position will ultimately be in Quebec Canada
