The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure's mission is to contribute to New Brunswick's economy and quality of life by providing and supporting sustainable infrastructure that allows for the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and government services to the public. Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.

**What you will do?**

As a Construction Worker, you will work under the direction of the Technical Supervisor and be responsible for:

- Assisting the Technical Supervisor by carrying out basic survey tasks such as re-establishing centerline alignments, resetting grades, cross sectioning work areas
- Assisting the Technical Supervisor in quantity calculations, set up and operations of a Total Station Instrument
- Co-ordinate, provide instruction to employees on the job, as required
- Assisting in taking samples and performing concrete testing

**Work environment**:

- Office locations: Sussex & St. Stephen
- 40-hour work week, with variable hours, including, evenings and weekends, when required
- Working on job sites in all weather conditions, exposure to dust and fumes
- Ability to lift and carry survey equipment and walking over uneven or sloping terrain
- Able to work at heights and around bridges
- Some travel within the region will be required

**Essential Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of six (6) years related work experience
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
