Doug Tarry Limited has been committed to our customers in St Thomas and surrounding areas since 1954. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently seeking an additional full-time Controller. responsible for coordinating and implementing the strategic business plan and financial policies and systems of the company. They also maintain and improve financial processes and control.

As part of your duties and responsibilities as a Controller, you will:

- Confer with Senior Leadership team to establish financial policies and develop internal controls, guidelines and procedures.
- Assist the CFO in the development of short
- and long-term financial plans and the preparation of budgets for all functional areas of the company.
- Assist with financial reporting, accounting, billing, payroll, collections and budgeting duties.
- Review options for investing free cash flow to maximize ROI (return of investments) for DTL.
- Review actual results against budget targets, analyze and report variances to CFO.
- Review all financial statements on behalf of DTL, for accuracy and reasonableness according to GAAP.
- Review subdivision agreements for each phase or subdivision from and development department and allocate the development costs for individual lot expenses and input into the system.
- Prepare draft year-end report for CFO.
- In collaboration with legal, accounting and business consultants plus senior leadership, participate in the development of a plan that supports the personal and corporate goals and objectives of Shareholders.

A college degree or higher with a professional designation or similar work experience is required.

Experience in on-line accounting programs and Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new computer programs is an asset.
