**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a **Finance Summer Student** to join our **Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)** North Atlantic Team in **Copper Cliff, Ontario**. This is a **4-month fixed term** position. The successful student will be required to work **onsite** at our North Atlantic Operations Centre under the direction of our Ontario Operations Finance Manager. This position is **Monday-Friday, 40 hours** per week.

You will also gain an understanding of our company and the accounting policies, specific to the mining industry. Exposure to other Vale operations across North Atlantic will further enhance your development experience. In this position, you will:

- Prepare monthly and/or weekly financial reports.
- Utilize management accounting tools to track service provider spend, project completion, financial forecasts etc.
- Enter information into our financial accounting system with accuracy.
- Prepare data/analytics to provide insights into trends for strategic decision-making using Power BI, Excel and other internal systems.
- Collaborate with other FP & A team members on special projects or other specific initiatives.
- Conduct research and perform analysis. (i.e. quantitative, qualitative, statistical)

**About You**

**Education**:

- Currently enrolled as a student in a finance related program, in college or university.

**Skills**:

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Solid interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI)
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
