We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated leader to join our team as Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) for our Symphony Orleans community. The community serves seniors needing independant and assisted living care support.

**Job Summary**:
The Assistant Director of Care is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care services. This position requires a compassionate and experienced individual who can effectively manage care staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and enhance the overall well-being of residents. The Assistant Director of Care will play a crucial role in developing care plans, providing guidance on best practices, and fostering a culture of excellence within the community.

**Duties**:
Reporting to the CEO, the Assistant Director of Care aides in the ongoing operation of the community through the completion of the following duties:

- Working with the Director of Care, lead and supervise nursing and care staff to ensure optimal resident care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents, focusing on their unique needs.
- Oversee medication administration processes to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Provide orientation, training and support to staff on dementia care, assisted living protocols, and senior care best practices.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident health and well-being, making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and community resources to enhance resident support.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements related to Ontario Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority.

**Skills**:

- Strong nursing background with experience in senior care environments.
- Expertise in dementia care practices and techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising healthcare staff.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to foster a supportive environment that promotes resident dignity and independence.

**Requirements**:

- Must hold a valid RPN license in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses
- 1-3 years experience providing direct care
- Computer skills - advanced working knowledge with Word, Outlook and electronic charting software
- Up to date Standard First Aid and CPR
- Must be able to work through an Outbreak, Epidemic or Pandemic, must be covid vaccinated, must be able to work with pets including dogs and cats (allergies can not be accommodated).
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias and a desire to serve residents and families
- Organizational skills and ability to coordinate care across disciplines (including Wellness, Activities, Dining, etc.)
- Ability to work within an environment that supports the goals and embraces the practices set forth in the Community
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Word.
- Strong communication skills in English, verbal and written.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

- Due to our high level of residents with dementia; your tattoos and piercings must either remained covered by clothing or are discrete. Any other external body decoration, including hair, must not be frightening to a frail senior with dementia.
- You must be legally allowed to work in Canada
- You must be in good physical health as this job requires lifting, sitting, standing and walking.
- Must have a valid Ontario drivers license.

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
