Symphony Senior Living (Orleans & Forest Valley Terrace) are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Care with a caring heart and dedication to serving seniors in our community. The ADOC will participate in care conferences, staff education, training and leadership, IPAC and health and safety management, resident service plans and implementation, etc. We will teach you our systems, programs and philosophy. However, we cannot teach compassion and empathy, so you will demonstrate those to us in an interview process.

Our unique community is a 100 year old monastery converted to a beautiful and affordable all memory care community. We offer three level of care from our terrace club on the first floor for mild cognitive impairment, to our Moments neighborhood on the second floor which supports residents with more advanced memory challenges to our beautiful third floor that cares for our Sorority ladies in an all female neighborhood.

**Job Requirements**:

- A Registered Practical Nurse with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses or governing body for the region in which they practice.
- 2-3 years experience providing direct client care
- Prior supervisory or management experience
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias and a desire to serve residents and their families.
- Proactively schedule and maintain staffing based upon the occupancy and specific are needs of the residents to ensure appropriate levels of staffing.
- Proof of medication administration education/ competency
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Clear understanding of resident centered care
- Leadership ability
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong team orientation
- Trained in C.P.R. and First Aid
- Must be able to communicate in English (written, verbal, reading)
- Computer literate with Outlook, Excel, Word as well as an aptitude and willingness to learn other job specific software

- Must have a valid Ontario drivers license
- Must be licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario

- Due to our high level of residents with dementia; your tattoos and piercings must either remained covered by clothing or are discrete. Any other external body decoration, including hair, must not be frightening to a frail senior with dementia.

- You must be in good physical health as this job requires lifting, sitting, standing and walking.
- Should there be an outbreak, must be able to carry out their duties.
