The recruitment team at Myticas Consulting is looking for an experienced Network Security Specialist who would be interested in a long-term contract opportunity offered within the Ottawa, ON region.

**Requirements**:

- 8+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong working level knowledge of IP Networking. Routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP), signaling protocols (RSVP, LDP), Segment Routing, QoS, IP VPN, VPLS, eVPN, BNG, NAT,DPI etc.
- Security knowledge of third-party routers and switches, including Cisco/Juniper product lines.
- Excellent hands-on network integration and problem solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Influences others outside the team to ensure goals are met and conflicts are resolved.
- Responds to requests for technical information and assistance in a timely and professional manner.

**Key requirements**:

- Security consultancy
- Network Design and Network Security Design
- Perform network security assessment for IP networks
- Perform impact/risk assessments, prepare vulnerability assessment reports and provide remediation strategies/solutions for networks
- Guide and maintain network analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities. (automation).
- Support in preparing authorization and assurance documents to confirm that the level of risk is within acceptable limits for each solution, system, and network.
- Implement plans of action and milestones or remediation plans for vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments.

**EDUCATION**:

- Minimum: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Advanced IP/MPLS training/certification (Nokia SRA, Cisco CCxx, Juniper Junos)

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of technology industry best practices related to privacy, privacy laws, regulations, and self-regulatory models
- Knowledge of security risk frameworks, including ISO 27000, NIST SP800 Series, CIP
- A min of 8 years of experience with designing, integrating, and troubleshooting IP networks. Knowledge of IP addressing (IPv4 and IPv6), subnetting, routing protocols (i.e. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.), MPLS, QoS, Multicast, VPLS, EVPN, and VPRN.
- Deep expertise in layer 2 and layer 3 knowledge including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/UDP, IP, TKIP, IPsec, MACsec, and high-level communication protocols is essential.
- Knowledge of network security management; in SIEM, NGFW, CASB, etc and practical experience in automation and integration activities.

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Master's degree in CS or Engineering, CCIE (R&S or SP) or SRA certification or equivalent experience. 8 or more years of experience with designing, integrating, and troubleshooting IP networks.
- In-depth knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, routing protocols (i.e. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.), MPLS, QoS, Multicast, VPLS, and VPRN. Experience in wireless transportation such as Microwave and LTE technologies, in-depth Communication Services over MPLS, and strong communication skills would be a definite asset.
- Good Linux security skills and networking in RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu
- Experience with virtualization hypervisors such as KVM, XEN, VMware, Hyper-V
- Experience with virtualized networking
- Experience using Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and firewalls hardware and software
