**About the Role**

We are seeking a reliable and skilled **Freelance IT and Networking Specialist** based in Ottawa to support various projects on an as-needed basis. **Key Responsibilities**
- Set up, configure, and maintain **network infrastructure**, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Provide **IT support** for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of **security systems** such as CCTV and access control systems.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions for specific project requirements.
- Document technical workflows, configurations, and resolutions.
- Monitor network performance and recommend optimizations as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Experience**:

- Proven experience in IT support and networking.
- Hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Ubiquiti, or similar).
- Familiarity with security systems (CCTV, access control, etc.).

**Technical Skills**:

- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, VPNs, and wireless networking.
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, or macOS environments.

**Certifications** (preferred): CCNA, Network+, or equivalent.

**Soft Skills**:

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Other Requirements**:

- Must be based in **Ottawa**.
- Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for project work.
