**About the Position**:
We are seeking a **Site Safety Advisor **with strong leadership skills to join our construction team in Vancouver, BC. This position will visit various construction sites primarily in the lower mainland, but at times in other parts of the province.

The key duties of this position include:

- Liaise with the HSE Manager and the Field Operations Manager to develop, refine, and implement Safe Work Policies, Procedures and Programs
- Perform incident investigations by assisting Site Foreman with investigations, finding root causes, and implementing corrective actions
- Mentor site foreman and site employees in their safety related responsibilities
- Perform site inspections/audits to identify corrective actions and preventative measures
- Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Procedures specific to site
- Monitor and evaluate employees and sub-contractors for compliance with General Contractor Safety Requirements and Company Safety Policies and Procedures
- Provide in-house training for courses such as HLL/Rescue Kit Use/Fit-Test, and Orientations/Competency as required
- Assist Health and Safety Coordinator with Site WCB Claims Management processes
- Must be comfortable with being away from home occasionally as this position requires you to travel.
- CSO or NSCO Designation required; CRSP Designation preferred
- Peer Auditor status preferred (BCCSA)
- Sound working knowledge of construction processes and procedures required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a site safety role
- Ironworker trade certification or previous ironworking/structural steel experience would be a strong benefit
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills to properly relate to foreman, tradespersons, clients, and subcontractors; Strong problem solving skills
- Must possess a clear understanding of WorkSafe BC & Other OHS Guidelines within Western Canada
- Knowledge and experience with Incident Investigations, WSBC Policy requirements and regulations.
- Knowledge of use, care, and inspection of safety equipment
- Ability to obtain Federal, Provincial, and Regional Security Clearance background checks
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, and Teams
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract
- Valid CSTS, WHMIS - 2015, Fall Protection and Standard First Aid tickets preferred.
