As a key member of the Business Systems team, the Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics is at the forefront of shaping the future of our automation, data analytics and business intelligence ecosystem. The role entails spearheading the next evolution of our data-driven strategies, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to unlock actionable insights that drive decision-making processes.


This position can be located in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver or Mississauga.

What You Will Be Working On-
- Drive the AI/ML data strategy, framework, and roadmap for optimizing construction project outcomes.- Architect and implement a robust AI/ML data governance roadmap and model aligned with Bird’s strategic imperatives and technological trajectory.- Leverage structured/unstructured data, IOT, machine learning and business principles to implement models that address complex business problems- Lead the selection and implementation of analytics solutions, data preparation and integration-
- Work with Business Subject Matter Experts, Senior Data Architects, and Business Analysts to define the data fabric and warehouse components including the data models, semantic layer, workflows, and data security.- Coordinate and participate in reviews of development efforts to ensure consistent methodologies are followed and to make recommendations where necessary.- Establish and follow best practices in master data management, data quality, data accuracy, and data cleansing and help establish enterprise -wide data governance processes.- Conduct appropriate levels of training, testing (unit, system, integration), release management coordination, and documentation.

What We Are Looking For- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related discipline and a minimum of 15 years of BI development and data analysis experience.- 10+ years of demonstrated people leadership experience.- Solid understanding of AI/ML, GenAI, business intelligence and data analytics with demonstrated experience working on BI projects.- Experience with MS Synapse/MS Fabric, MS PowerBI, Semarchy, RPA, and Dell Boomi is desired and considered a strong asset.- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to describe technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as write and edit technical documents.-
- Ability to resolve escalated problems quickly and efficiently with proven success in handling conflicting demands and priorities effectively using a proactive approach to resolving problems.- Knowledge of the construction industry and construction software an asset.We Put Safety First
