**Position Overview / Scope of Responsibilities**:
A Forklift Operator's main objective is to operate a forklift safely while building and loading orders.

**Principle Responsibilities**:

- Operating a forklift to inspect, tally, and put credits away. Must sort timber and check loads.
- Building orders for either a customer pickup, roll-off drop, forklift unload, or Hiab unload at job sites.
- Adhere to safe workplace policies and procedures, along with safety standards including pre & post inspection of forklifts.
- Assist customers and yard workers as needed and during peak business periods.
- Responsible for meeting productivity requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assemble and band loads together to ensure safe handling by other workers.
- Maintain a clean and tidy worksite.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Education**:

- Current forklift certification - **an asset.**:

- Above average math skills and attention to detail. - **required**:

- **Knowledge of the principles, theories and practices of forklift operation.**:

- Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both written and verbal.
- Able to perform a variety of general forklift maintenance.
- Run, maneuver, navigate and operate forklift within confines of worksite.
- Must have flexible schedule with ability to work Saturdays and be able to work overtime when needed.

**Working Conditions**:

- Ability to walk and/or stand on pavement in all weather conditions for more than an hour at a time.
- Ability to lift items weighing 3 lbs. to 50 lbs. and walk up to 25 feet.
- Availability to work 5 days per week / 8 hours per day during business hours with the ability to work overtime when needed.
- **Yard Hours are Monday through Friday - 6 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday - 8 am to 4:30 pm.**
