**Building Maintenance Person** required for an office/retail furniture building in the Fairview Slopes area of Vancouver.

**Job Summary**:
Performs routine maintenance & light repairs related to the building, offices, retail store and grounds.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Carries out preventative maintenance procedures for the building, equipment and grounds.
- Performs maintenance tasks and repairs on plumbing, heating, mechanical, and electrical systems that do not require a licensed trade person.
- Painting and paint touch ups, drywall repairs and carpet cleaning as required.
- Monitors and occasionally assists with work performed by contractors and subtrades.
- Cleans external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lot using brooms/rakes/ pressure washers and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow, and other refuse.
- Performs minor gardening tasks such as light pruning and watering.
- Maintains records such as maintenance logs of HVAC equipment.
- Moves furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts or with assistant as required. Helps arrange furniture for special events.
- Operates a motor vehicle to occasionally pick up supplies.
- Performs other “handyman” duties as required.

**Should have general experience as follows**:

- basic knowledge of minor plumbing/ electrical
- experience using hand and power tools
- painting and minor drywall repair experience
- able to assist with lifting and moving furniture
- carpet cleaning and paint touch ups
- ability to troubleshoot and complete minor repairs

**HOURS**:
FULL TIME : 8.30 to 5 Monday to Friday (half hour for lunch)

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Good English communication, written and oral.
Must be physically fit
Previous experience as a building maintenance worker or handyman is desired
References an asset.
Criminal record check will be done.
Valid BC drivers license
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
