**Your Opportunity**

The Contract Reviewer (CR) works closely with Stantec's lawyers, Project Managers and project staff. The CR provides assistance and expertise in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract terms for professional services according to Stantec policies.

**This is a 10-month term assignment.**

**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract documents and request for proposals according to Stantec legal and other policies.
- Identifying and communicating to project staff the negotiation items and other contract issues that must be resolved between Stantec and their clients, subconsultants and contractors prior to the execution of all contracts.
- Assisting with the negotiation of contractual issues with Stantec clients when requested.
- Reviewing and analyzing contract exceptions and modifications submitted by Stantec's clients.
- Customizing standard contract forms for specific projects when necessary.
- Keeping management informed of contract negotiation status and issues.
- Entering contract information and other data into database.

**Description du poste**

Le ou la spécialiste en revue de contrats travaille en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe juridique, les chargés de projet et les équipes de projet. Il ou elle fournit une assistance et une expertise dans la revue, l’élaboration et la négociation de termes contractuels pour la provision de services professionnels selon les politiques de Stantec.

**Il s’agit d’une affectation de 10 mois.**

**Principales responsabilités**
- Revoir, élaborer et négocier les documents contractuels et les appels d’offres tout en veillant à leur conformité avec les politiques (juridiques et autres) de Stantec;
- Identifier et communiquer aux équipes de projet les points de négociation et autres questions contractuelles à résoudre entre Stantec et les clients, les sous-traitants et les entrepreneurs, avant le début des travaux;
- Fournir de l’assistance lors de la négociation d’éléments contractuels avec les clients de Stantec, lorsque requis;
- Revoir et analyser les exceptions et les changements aux contrats soumis par les clients de Stantec;
- Adapter les contrats standards aux projets, lorsque requis;
- Maintenir l’équipe de direction informée du statut des négociations de contrats et des autres dossiers;
- Saisir les renseignements contractuels et autres informations dans une base de données.

**Qualifications**

**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Word, Excel, Outlook is required.
- Thorough knowledge of English and French composition and grammar with excellent proof-reading skills, attention to detail and ability to learn new concepts.
- Keen attention to detail is a must.

**Education and Experience**
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in contract work.
- Minimum educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school. Legal Assistant or Paralegal training would be an asset.

**Aptitudes et compétences**
- Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office, dont Access, Word, Excel et Outlook (obligatoire);
- Excellentes aptitudes en rédaction, en grammaire et en révision française et anglaise, minutie et capacité à apprendre de nouveaux concepts;
- En plus des responsabilités ci-haut mentionnées, la personne assumant ce rôle doit posséder une attitude fonceuse/dynamique; elle pourrait aussi être appelée à fournir de l’assistance dans la réalisation d’autres tâches administratives;
- Grande attention portée aux détails.

**Études et expérience**
- Minimum de deux ans d’expérience pertinente;
- Diplôme d’études secondaires. Formation en tant qu’assistant(e) ou technicien(ne) juridique (atout).
