The Quality & Chemical Technologist is to monitor, test and maintain specifications of chemical pre-treatment, and waste water management systems resulting in consistent and effective preparation of materials to be powder coated. They are to inspect, test and monitor the quality of the coated materials, while also ensuring that the day-to-day functions as designated by his or her direct supervisor are both adhered to and done efficiently and safely.

**Reports to**:Plant Management

**Duties**:

- Monitor Pre-Treatment system, test and adjust parameters to ensure specifications are maintained; including wash temperature, Ph levels, chemical concentrations/conductivity and TDS (total dissolved solids) of rinse tanks
- Monitor and clean spray nozzles (5 stages)
- Clean orange line tanks (5 tanks)
- Maintain Reverse Osmosis holding tank and test TDS
- Monitor and adjust Waste Water Treatment system, monitor and adjust Ph levels, and adding Calcium Chloride and polymer
- Empty and clean water filters, removal of sludge into drums
- Monitor and adjust zinc and phosphate levels/concentrations in tanks
- Perform quality checks of coated product for proper curing, powder coating and thickness using various quality control instruments
- Verify coated parts count and measurement and total bars of required finished product
- Complete Daily Coating Reports and data entry of work orders processed in ERP system
- QUALIFICATIONS:

- **Detail Oriented**:

- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with handling of chemicals and WHMIS training

(O.T hours flexible); Must be flexible with 11pm-7am shift

Education: Chemical Technician Diploma

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
