We are looking for an **Oracle and MS SQL Database Administrator** for a **12-month contract** in **Regina, Saskatchewan**, with possible extensions. **Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.**

**This is a hybrid position with a requirement to work in-person at the office, 3 days per week.**

**Role Description**
The Oracle and MS SQL Database Administrator provides for the day-to-day administration, management, and support of all Oracle and MS SQL Instances.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide support for all Oracle and MS SQL monitoring tools, backups and recovery
- Create and configure database environments with effective utilization of resources
- Configure and manage database environment to maintain integrity of data
- Maintain availability of database services according to arranged targets
- Maintain, operate and upgrade automated monitoring tools to monitor database performance
- Perform database shutdowns and restarts following company procedures
- Respond to requests to upgrade or fix the existing database environment in accordance to company policies
- Perform data model enhancements involving design and implementation via Case Tool
- Implement preparation requirements for database, such as database name conventions, database file location definition, storage strategy definition and redundancy requirements
- Confirm readiness of company, create requisite change management records and build database in the production environment during rollout of an upgrade
- Develop, document and maintain physical database standards and procedures, including database tuning
- Project future trends and capacity requirements for new projects and provide such information to the appropriate personnel as it pertains to the services
- Compile configuration data and trends, as well as reporting procedures

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- **Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science or a relevant field**:

- **A minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a similar or relevant position**:

- **Significant analytical experience**:

- Demonstrated testing skills and techniques
- Experience with data modelling
- Experience working on multiple platforms and operations systems, such as Windows and Citrix
- Basic AIX knowledge is preferred
- ITIL Certification is preferred
- Database Certification (OCA, OCP, OCM, etc.) is preferred
