**Job Title: DB2 Database Administrator**

**Client: eHealth Saskatchewan**

**Location: Regina, Saskatchewan(Hybrid)**

**Duration: 8+ Months (Possible Extension)**

The DB2 Database Administrator will manage the implementation of various IT projects, including deploying database solutions, monitoring performance, and ensuring security.

**Responsibilities**:

- Deployment of database solutions
- Database storage and capacity planning
- Disaster recovery
- Day-to-day database administration and maintenance
- Establishing and deploying database standards
- Performance monitoring and tuning
- Establishing and maintaining database security
- Configuration, upgrade, and migration of databases
- Collaborate with project contacts for status meetings and issue escalation
- Ensure timelines and service levels are met
- Provide necessary equipment for accessing and utilizing services

**Qualifications**:

- Within the previous five (5) years, has a minimum of two (2) years practical database administration experience and data governance experience. Expertise in database deployment, maintenance, and tuning.
- Experience implementing **IBM DB2, Oracle and SQL** database solutions.
- Experience developing and implementing data strategies, building and documenting data flows from source systems to target **Data Warehouse(s)**:

- Experience creating scripts to move data into the target environment to ensure there is consistency in the Data collection.
- Experience performing an assessment on the database environment including but not limited to identifying hardware, hardware utilization, licensing, versioning, existing HA solutions, maintenance plans.
- Cloud Expertise: Sound knowledge of **Microsoft Azure - IaaS** and experience in integrating on-premises environments with cloud platforms.
- Experience in **ITIL and Change Management**:

- Project Implementation: Proven track record of implementing network technologies to support organizational projects.
- Collaborative Skills: Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring cohesive and effective networking solutions.
- Enterprise-Level Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of enterprise-level databases to address complex infrastructure needs.
- Experience analyzing data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions, while adhering to strict privacy and security governance policies
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery and database security
- Ability to plan and manage database storage and capacity
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills

**Desired Skills**:

- Familiarity with eHealth systems and standards
- Experience with IT project management
- Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and techniques
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

**Job Type**: Contract

Pay: $59.42-$75.00 per hour

Schedule:
