Position Summary

As a Program Specialist - Fieldhouse, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and managing a variety of sport, recreation, and special event programs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the vibrancy of our city while making a positive impact on residents of all ages and backgrounds.
This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of a wide variety of recreation, sport, and special event programs. This position assists in ensuring the efficient and effective management of leisure and sport programs city wide. This position reports to the Sportplex Supervisor. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Plans, implements, and evaluates a wide variety of sport, recreation, and special event programs. Assumes responsibility for the hiring, supervising, coaching and evaluation of staff to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of programs and facility operation. Ensures the proper allocation of all Fieldhouse program space with respect to Fieldhouse scheduling policies and assesses user fees via the annual Fees and Charges Survey. Maintains and interprets statistical data and financial information on programs to allow for ongoing evaluation of services and user needs. Establishes, maintains, and evaluates the registration process and promotion for facility programs and services. Assists in the development of policies and procedures with regard to programming and scheduling to maintain the effective operation of the facility. Oversees the repair and replacement of all sporting equipment in the Fieldhouse in consultation with the Facilities Department. Assists in the development of long
- and short-range plans and objectives. Assists in the preparation and tracking of the Fieldhouse annual capital and operating budgets. Prepares reports and undertakes analysis as required. Represents the Department at various community meetings and events. Works cooperatively with other staff in promoting programs and services and ensuring services meet the needs of facility users. Assists in the development and recommends orientation, customer service and other training as required. Ensures the coordination of special events and major athletic competitions held at the Sportplex (Lawson and Fieldhouse). Performs related work as required. Key Qualifications
