**Job Type**: Twelve (12) Month Contract Position - Full Time
**Location**: 2030 Bristol Circle, Oakville ON,
On-site, 8:30AM to 4PM (after 3 months possible hybrid - two (2) days per week working from home)
**Salary**: $58,000-$62,000, plus health benefits after 3 months successful probationary period.

The Accounting Specialist works with the Finance team to ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end review, including preparation of information required to create financial statement for internal and external purposes.
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Accounting Specialist assists and supports with A/P, A/R, payroll and clerical tasks, as required, acting as back up and replacement for these positions when necessary.
The Accounting Specialist assists and helps with:
- Prepare and enter required accurate journal entries as needed or applicable, during the month, at month end, for quarterly reporting and audit ensuring the monthly full and complete accounting cycle is finalized in accordance with the deadlines.
- Bank reconciliation process and monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts.
- Process invoices, expense reports, petty cash requests, and cheque requisitions in MS Dynamics Great Plains, producing cheques, V-cheques, EFT coordinating for signatures and distribution (mailing)
- Prepare monthly organization wide credit card payments, and ensure appropriate back up documentation is attached and approved
- Organize and prepare cash and cheques (receivables) for deposit through the machine or in person at the bank and processing accordingly in GP for bank reconciliation
- Prepare PADs for clients through BMO and balance monthly in AlayaCare
- Prepare and mail charitable tax receipts and reconciling to deposits.
- Maintain organized files in electronic and hard copy format as appropriate, uploading documents (A/P, A/R and payroll related) on Share Point and Payroll system, on an on-going basis.
- Process, print & distribute client statements.
- Review and adjust client accounts to present accurate ageing of outstanding A/R listings by department an prepare analysis of overdue accounts.
- Administer payroll related tasks including accounting entries and reconciliations, collaborating with HR to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data input.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor/Diploma degree in accounting or related designation and/or experience
- Proven experience working as an Accountant or in a similar role
- Proficiency with excel and accounting software, MS Office Suite (Great Plains, Share Point)
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards preferably in non-profit
- Effective communication skills and excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Able to multitask and focus in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines
- Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) prior to and throughout employment as requested by Links2Care is required.
- Access to a vehicle is required, as travel between sites may be required. Employees who travel for work related purposes must have reliable transportation, a valid Ontario driver’s license and a minimum of $1,000,000 liability insurance coverage.
