**The role**:
We are looking for a Construction Project Coordinator to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The incumbent would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The Construction Project Coordinator is expected to coordinate multiple projects and contracts simultaneously while ensuring that work is completed according to the tender documents and that industry best practices and all safety and building codes are respected. Due to the fast-paced working environment, the Construction Project Coordinator will need to have strong communication skills and must have experience working with contractors, consultants, clients.
The projects range from renovations, restorations and alterations of NRC buildings and facilities to new construction and involve all construction trades and disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical. The project values can range from tens of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars depending on the complexity and size of the project being completed.
**Screening criteria**:
**Education**:
College diploma in Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering Technology. A relevant trade license would also be considered.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
A certificate in construction management would be considered an asset.

**Experience**:
- Significant* and recent* experience coordinating construction projects in the commercial or industrial building industry.
- Significant* experience coordinating and reviewing the on-site activities of contractors on multi-trade projects.
- Significant* experience interpreting and managing construction contracts ensuring conformance to tender documents and compliance with contractual due diligence.
- Experience developing and reviewing site-specific construction safety plans.
- Significant experience is defined as two (2) to six (6) years of experience.
**Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
The following experience criteria would be considered as an asset:
- Experience coordinating construction contracts within the Federal Government environment.
**Condition of employment**:
- Must be able to possess and retain the physical capabilities to perform the position which include but may not be limited to: crouching, bending, twisting, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and ability to hear to diagnose mechanical troubles.
- Must possess and retain a valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence or a valid Quebec Class 5 Driver’s License.
