Annual salary: $ 107,000.00 - 135,300.00

**What you'll do**
- Stations Field Operations (SFO) is offering a field based Contract Management opportunity. An Operations-focused
qualified Contracts Professional is required to manage external service providers and supply contracts, supporting
maintenance and operations of specialized equipment and facilities in various locations across BC. Reporting to Vancouver
Island, Thermal and Non-Integrated Areas’ Contracts Specialist, the Contracts Professional will work with SFO
managers, field support staff, and Category Management to effectively deliver long-term complex contracts and other work
as the business requires.

Key success factors for the role include:

- an ability to work with and influence internal and external stakeholders,
- an ability to understand and optimize detailed contract terms and conditions,
- a commitment to implementing continuous process improvements,
- an understanding of thermal/diesel power generation and heavy equipment industries,
- experience with supply chain activities and procurement of technical services and equipment, fuels, and materials, and
- experience working with First Nations and processes that foster indigenous procurement opportunities.

This role will ensure delivery of materials and services in alignment with overall strategy and business group objectives
through oversight of contract compliance and contractor performance. The Contracts Professional will ensure contracts are
meeting performance objectives by actively managing and taking responsibility for successful outcomes. The Contracts
Professional is well versed in contract Terms & Conditions and understands the strategic value of relationships. They work
with cross-functional teams to develop and execute contract management processes and are responsible for planning and
communication of category contracts. Throughout the contract management lifecycle, the Contracts Professional is
accountable for leading and/or contributing to:

- balancing requirements for quality, safety, reliability, cost, and resources,
- ensuring fairness and accountability for all parties involved,
- building relationships across internal business groups, stakeholders, and suppliers,
- turning difficult conversations into constructive, mutually beneficial outcomes,
- identifying and implementing business process improvements to maximize benefits, and
- evaluating contract format, pricing structure, scope definition, and Terms & Conditions, and clearly articulating these

aspects to stakeholders.

**Duties**:

- Provide leadership related to service and supply contracts for BC Hydro’s Non-Integrated Area (NIA).
- Lead development of contract requirements, specifications, and evaluation criteria.
- Perform review of contractor submissions, providing feedback on acceptance/rejection (including drawings, reports,

management plans, etc.).
- Monitor deliverables and adherence to contract requirements; report on performance results.
- Manage/support materials and services warranty claims.
- Assist in resolution of technical and/or contractual queries and disputes, and provide input on change requests.
- Provide support to field managers and planning teams navigating service requests, clarifying obligations, and helping to

facilitate planning and execution of work.
- Coordinate with other groups within BC Hydro as required to meet service objectives.
- Perform an oversight and coordinating role on matters related to safety, environment, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assist in the design and implementation of innovative strategies to improve

internal processes, and to enhance vendor management while optimizing contract spend.
- Contribute to advancement and sustainment of business improvement, through a NIA Operations lens.
- Review and approve assigned vendor invoices.
- Manage all aspects of assigned work, including: chairing meetings, monitoring schedules, managing scope, tracking

submittals, mitigating risk of claims and disputes, etc.
- Provide general support to field managers and planning teams, helping with projects or initiatives as needed to meet

overall business group objectives.
