The John Howard Society of Belleville is a criminal justice agency that provides services in the areas of prevention, intervention, and reintegration. Our primary focus is to reduce the impact of crime and its causes through the delivery of relevant programs.  

**Position Summary**:This position reports directly to the Manager of Youth Services and the Executive Director. JHSB Youth Programming consists of evidence-based programs building social and emotional learning (SEL) skills to promote health and wellness in young persons. Programming is offered for youth ages 11-18. Youth will enhance knowledge and skills to improve their capacity to make informed choices supporting healthy living. The function of this position is to provide counselling and support to youth and their families.

**Program Management**
- Meet with youth to complete comprehensive assessment and intakes.
- Provide a mixture of daytime and evening weekly counselling sessions that will be delivered virtually or in-person.
- Exercise a flexible, non-judgmental, anti-racist and anti-oppressive approach to people and work.
- Complete all required intake forms, case notes, statistics, and reporting as required.
- Distribute and collect pre and post evaluations.
- Monitor completion of counselling requirements and prepare reports for court.
- Adhere to directives and program standards of John Howard Society of Belleville.
- Complete all required training.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Engage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including schoolboards, child welfare agencies, justice stakeholders, and other youth-serving agencies in the Region
- Support Manager in completion of administrative tasks such as report writing, maintaining statistical records, and funder reporting.
- Work with funders to ensure program is adhering to contract standards.
- Conduct outreach to other community agencies to enhance service delivery, and for purposes of establishing partnerships in areas specific to client needs.
- Assist agency in program development through identification of service gaps.
- Ensure that services delivered are efficient and effective through evaluation techniques.
- To participate in community development through the implementation of services identified as relevant to our client needs.
- To oversee program collaboration with stakeholders and partners.
- Participation in community round tables and committees.
- Coordination of data collection, funder reports, and program evaluations.
- To coordinate services off-site at locations such as Probation offices; Shelters; and Correctional Centers as relevant.
- Assist the agency in maintaining accessible, relevant, responsive, and quality services.

**Qualifications**
- Post Secondary education in relevant Human Services field e.g., social work, criminology, psychology, social services or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Management experience in a relevant field of practice.
- Familiarity of local resources within the Region, including thorough knowledge of community services and support programs for those involved, or at risk of being involved, in the justice system (e.g., shelters, addiction, mental health, social services, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and support a clinical team.
- Enhanced knowledge of the court and criminal justice system in Ontario, especially youth justice.
- Attention to detail is imperative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other online platforms including zoom.
- Recent vulnerable sector criminal record check.
- Ability to speak more than one language is an asset.

**Additional Requirements**
- Background check clearance, including Vulnerable Sector.
- Must have valid drivers’ licence, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.

Pay: $45,500.00 per year
