**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the supervision, guidance and overall smooth operations of a small Accounting staff based in Nanaimo.
- Accounts payable, accounts receivables, account reconciliations, and other related functions.
- Ensuring month-end cycle is completed accurately and on time.
- Supporting the Accounting team with workflow process improvements, as well as maintaining current accounting procedures, practices, and principles.
- Support with various accounting projects as needed.

**What we are looking for**:

- Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- A University degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices, and standards.
- Previous experience working in a dealership environment is an asset.
- Excellent technical accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with an ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with confidential information.
