**THE ROLE**
As a Fitness, Sports and Recreation Coordinator/Supervisor, you are part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy travel, meaningful employment, and contributing in a team-based static or ship-based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among our CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude in a fast-paced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment, where an unconventional workweek is commonplace.
Working in a team setting, you will be contributing at the forefront of supporting Canada’s military abroad. Most importantly, you will be coordinating Fitness, Sports and Recreation for Canadian, and in some cases, partner nations. You will conduct personal and group fitness and sports training as well as delivering briefings and guidance on sports and recreation policies, directives and procedures.
In addition, you play an important role in enhancing the morale of CAF members by planning recreational activities, outings and events. Keeping CAF members energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the rigours of operations, and live healthy balanced lives. You will be able to use your creativity in finding innovating ways to help pass leisurely time and will occasionally be able to accompany CAF members for the activity.
**QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED** Education, Certifications and Licenses**
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education/ Exercise Physiology/ Exercise Sciences, or a combination of College diploma or certificate in Exercise Sciences, with some years of experience in sports and recreation administration, physical fitness evaluation and prescription; and
**Experience**
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
- Current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) qualification, an asset
- Experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating the operations and delivery of physical fitness, sports,
- and recreation programs
- Experience in preparing, administering, and/or officiating/coaching sporting events and/or athletic competitions
- Experience in evaluating physical fitness
- Knowledge of injury prevention practices
- Knowledge of risk management
- Knowledge of marketing programs and services

**LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS**
English Essential / French Essential / Bilingual an asset

**OTHER INFORMATION** CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:
- Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment;

- Must have a valid Canadian passport;
- Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license;
- Willingness to work a non-conventional workweek (e.g. 56hrs per week/weekends);
- Position requires walking, heavy lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. 50 lbs/ 23 kg or more);

**START DATE**

Deployment contracts are for 6 month terms
Coordinator and Supervisor positions will be filled through this competition
**DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT**:
CFMWS has been delivering morale and welfare programs to deployed CAF members since 2000 in the area of fitness, sports and recreation. We also assist with other amenities and support including travel assistance, messes, retail and barber services to make time away on deployment easier for CAF members.
**THE LOCATION**:
**Latvia**:
Operation (Op) REASSURANCE refers to the military activities undertaken by CAF to support North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) assurance and deterrence measures in Central and Eastern Europe.
