People & Culture Generalist

Reporting to President, the People and Culture Generalist is committed to service delivery excellence and is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources across Canada. This includes recruitment, employee retention strategies, community relations, recognition programs, and career counseling. **Responsibilities and Deliverables**:

- Full-cycle recruitment
- Coordinate onboarding and training
- Provide high quality HR advice and service to operations team on a regular basis with respect to employee relations and performance management issues
- Provide expertise in the following areas: high volume recruitment, data analysis, employee relations, employee engagement, health & safety.
- Works with the Benefits administrator to ensure that benefits-related questions from employees are adequately answered and assist in processing benefits forms.
- Generate reports as needed related to employee statistics such as turnover, onboarding times, training completion, etc.
- Continuously review and improve all HR policies and procedures.
- Works with the Concord Team across the country to help embed the CARE cultural values with all employees.
- Collaborate with Marketing on recruitment campaigns, internal staff messaging, staff surveys, and focus groups.
- Organize and attend job fairs.
- Share HR best practices with colleagues and mentor to bolster succession plan.
- Assist with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion related initiatives as required.
- Work with local and regional HR, and other key business functions to support operations and advance the P&C mandate
- As part of overarching retention and succession planning, provide guidance to EEs regarding career development within the company whether through submissions to the Career Coach or via site visits
- Coordinate and plan employee recognition events including the Annual Christmas Party, and the 4 Pillars of Giving
- Serve as a representative of Concord and assist with developing long-term partnerships with various Indigenous groups and organizations
- Provides motivational and disciplinary guidance to managers and supervisors to assist with employee issues as needed.
- Provides assistance with evaluations of staff assigned to sites on an as needed basis and in accordance with company policies.
- Works with the operations team to ensure that there are adequate numbers of trained staff to fulfill our contractual obligations.
- Communicates appropriate information to the President as needed to ensure that any outstanding issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Monitors employee complaints and inquiries and takes appropriate action.
- Develops and promotes Concord’s business where possible in a professional and positive manner.
- To maintain standardization throughout the organization, the People and Culture Generalist will maintain a strong understanding of Paladin’s organizational best practices to ensure a consistency of delivery with Paladin’s Core Beliefs, Guiding Principles, Strategic Plan and Business Practices
- Performs other duties as requested to assist with corporate and/or branch needs.

***Required Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Proven ability to embrace change and adversity in a rapidly growing and changing environment
- Diploma in Business Management or Human Resource considered an asset
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity considered an asset
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and professionalism
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge and understanding of Employment Standards Legislation and Human Rights Legislation
- Conflict resolution experience is considered an important asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
- Demonstrates out of the box and solution orientated thinking.
