We currently have a **Regular Full-time** opportunity for a **Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator **in the **Infection Prevention and Control department **at our **Sunnybrook - All Sites** **campus.

**Hours of Work:
Weekdays & Alternating Weekends: Days; 8hrs; As per schedule

On Call Required.

**Summary of Duties**

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Regulated healthcare professional, OR Masters in Public Health (MPH), OR a bachelor's degree in microbiology, epidemiology or healthcare related field.
- Completion or current enrollment in a post graduate IPAC course (endorsed by IPAC Canada), required or Master of Public Health with IPAC track, considered an asset/strongly preferred.
- Certified in infection prevention through the CBIC (Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology) or commitment to complete within 2-years of hire.
- Member of Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC Canada), preferred
- CSA training and experience in construction and renovation experience/knowledge, considered an asset
- Expert Infection Prevention & Control knowledge required to act as a resource and problem solve Infection Prevention & Control issues.
- Understanding of current legislation relevant to the practice of IPAC (Public Hospitals Act, Excellent Health Care for All, HPPA, HQO Patients Safety Indicators, OHSA)
- Possesses knowledge and/or has job related experience in the health care field and is familiar with patient care practices.
- Works independently and is self-motivated, self-directed while possessing the ability to work in a collaborate manner.
- Demonstrates effective leadership and management skills
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively articulate the important components of an infection prevention and control program with all levels of personnel/clients
- Possesses knowledge of, and is able to utilize educational principles in program development and teaching
- Demonstrates expert verbal and written communication skills
- Possesses knowledge of epidemiological principles, statistics, microbiology, and infectious diseases.
- Possesses knowledge of and utilizes the principle of continuous quality improvement
