At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for an **Infection Control Surveillance Coordinator **for our Mount Sinai Hospital. As a member of the infection control team, the Infection Control Surveillance Coordinator supports the infection prevention and control team through daily monitoring of infection control processes. This role will report directly to the Director, Infection Control.
**Responsibilities**:
- Supports quality improvement activities aimed at ensuring best practices in infection prevention are implemented and proactive strategies are followed to identify, prevent and control hospital-acquired infections
- Performs quarterly process audits (e.g. hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, containment of construction sites)
- Performs data entry as needed for surveillance programs and outbreak management
- Supports team in the implementation of ARO prevalence screens, and monitoring of ARO admission screening processes
- Maintains information on department intranet page
- Participates in program evaluation research activities to advance the practice of infection prevention and control
- Keeps current with infection prevention and control policies, procedures, protocols, literature and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Job Requirements- Bachelor's degree in relevant health science discipline required
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Experience in a health care setting preferred
- Basic knowledge in infection control practices
- Motivated self-starter with initiative and good problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
