Warehouse Supervisor

_Brimich is a family owned and operated 3PL company. We are a growing organization and currently looking for a passionate and motivated **Warehouse Supervisor** to join our winning team._

**Afternoon shift: Monday - Friday 3pm-11pm**

**This is a cold storage facility with temps ranging from -5 to-25 degrees C**

**Position Summary**:
The Warehouse Supervisor directs and oversees the functions of warehouse personnel and assists in both the administrative and operational responsibilities as and when required. This position also requires the individual to work in a dynamic environment and exercise prompt decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:

- Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff
- Assigning daily tasks and evaluating the work of the subordinates.
- Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
- Responsible to ensure company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors.
- Informs Warehouse Manager and Transportation team when a truck is late (after 1 hour loading window), delayed or does not show up.
- Inspecting and overseeing the inventory records of the warehouse for accuracy, in combination with keeping track of all inbound and outbound supplies.
- Regularly inspects and ensures the maintenance and safety of all warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Makes inventory and evaluation reports pertaining to the warehouse.
- Participates in quality planning/improvement activities re: stocking of racks
- Cross trained to cover off other warehouse responsibilities as required (ex. In case of absence or coverage required Shipper, picker, receiver, warehouse supervisor etc.)
- Training new staff assigned to your shift
- Performs other duties as required within his abilities as requested by management.

**Health and Safety**
- Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
- Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Specific accountabilities include, but are not limited to: performing workplace inspections; actively participating in accident/incident investigations; identifying & correcting unsafe acts or conditions; conducting/participating in safety talks & staff meetings; training new employees

**Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies**:

- Ability to effectively lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep employees motivated.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to solve crisis.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to network with suppliers.
- Knowledge of safety standards and accident investigation.
- Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter and a team player.
- Must be computer literate.

**Education and Training**
- 3+ years previous supervisory experience in warehousing preferred
- **Previous Freezer experience preferred**:

- Diploma in supply chain management, general administration from a certified college, or equivalent experience a definite asset
- Certified Forklift Operator - stand-up high-reach counterbalance
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of bar coding systems

**Continuous Improvement**
- Participate in developing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture in the warehouse.
