Product Manager Responsibilities
- Defines the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Gathers, manages, and prioritizes market/customer requirements.
- Deliver Market Requirements Document (MRD) - Product Plan and product requirements document that defines PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
- Acts as the customer advocate articulating the user’s and buyer’s needs.
- Works closely with Leadership, IT, Fulfillment, Accounting, Sales and Marketing team and supports to ensure meeting business case and customer satisfaction goals.
- Prepares a detailed and interactive report including but not limited to market analysis, market segmentation, competitor analysis, identifying personas, and cost of customer acquisitions.
- Works closely with the Project Manager/Business Analyst to initiate the product development and support the development and management team throughout the project life cycle.
- Technical product knowledge or specific domain expertise.
- Defines what to solve in the market needs document, where you articulate the valuable market problem you’re solving along with priorities and justification for each part of the solution.
- Run trials and MVPs, develop, and deliver go-to-market launch plans
- Runs beta and pilot programs during the qualifying phase with almost final products and samples. In Agile environments, regularly reviews completed work and checks with customers to ensure that it meets the customer’s expectations.
- Promote the product to sales teams through sales training sessions, webinars, newsletters, and other mechanisms
- Develop and deliver training to technical sales support
- Market expertise includes understanding the reasons customers purchase products. This includes a deep understanding of the competition and how customers think of and buy your product. Product Managers need market research and competitive analysis skills to complete these tasks.
- Develops the business case for new products, improvements to existing products, and business ventures.
- Develops positioning for the product.
- Collate feedback from sales and customers
- Recommends or contributes information in setting product pricing
- Align MyKey product roadmap with business strategies and establish a shared vision across stakeholders
- Write requirements for your scrum team and PM the software development lifecycle
- Assess opportunities and develop prototypes in order to determine the best solutions from user experience and business outcome perspectives
- Serve as the liaison between the user community (users, internal consultants, and external customers) and the software engineering team
**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated success in defining and launching products that meet and exceed business objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Subject matter expertise in a particular product or market. This should include specific industry or technical knowledge.
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
- Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
- 7+ years of experience in a job in the technology market
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA considered an asset).
- Technical background with experience in Agile Product Development.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
