**Position Title**: Import and Logistics Coordinator
**Location**: Calgary, AB
**Job Type**: Full Time Permanent
**Position Summary**:
The Import and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely importation of goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, freight brokers, and internal departments, to ensure a smooth import process.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Control incoming documents and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly reports on import activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and administer import shipments, ensuring timely arrival and clearance.
- Coordinate freight arrangements with brokers, vendors, and carriers
- Issue purchase orders, verify product specifications, and certifications.
- Prepare and distribute necessary shipping documentation, including Shipping Notifications, Customs Invoices, Import/Export documents etc. Track shipments and verify receipt.
- Manage daily inbound shipment flow and ensure containers are delivered and emptied at designated locations.
- Receive copies of all shipping documents, including HACCP when required, and troubleshoot any issues.
- Handle port arrival notices and customs clearance procedures.
- Coordinate transportation from port to cold storage.
- Facilitate CFIA inspections, clearances and MCAP signing when necessary.
- Process costing and payments to suppliers.
- Coordinate protein quotas.
- Additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- 2-3 years’ experience in coordinating logistics/freight forwarding.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, transportation or a related field a combination of work and education may also be considered.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of CBSA, CFIA, and Global affairs would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of international freight forwarding would be considered an asset.
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
