Our company culture is centered around integrity, collaboration, and quality and these core values are at the heart of everything we do. **ROLE OVERVIEW** Motif Labs Inc. is currently seeking a Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO). This executive position will be responsible for leading all production and manufacturing activities for Motif. In the present role, the CMO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The CMO will work alongside the CEO in ensuring rapid growth of the business and will have the responsibility for achieving Motif’s performance targets and executing on increases to production, manufacturing and operational capabilities to match sales activity at both the wholesale and retail levels. The CMO will be responsible for all aspects of Motif’s manufacturing operations across 2 sites and will develop and optimize the organizational capabilities to match Motif’s strategy and growing scale. The CMO will be a key member of Motif’s senior executive team and contributor to Motif’s overall strategy. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** - Oversee all manufacturing operations across Motif’s operating locations including the following departments: - Health and Safety - Facilities and Maintenance - Production - Extraction and Refining Operations - Manufacturing - Formulation and Packaging - Quality Assurance - Supply Chain - Promote a safety culture across the organization with focus on handling of dangerous goods and high pressure industrial equipment - Execute on monthly demand plans while optimizing capacity/capability to hit annual - forecasted volumes in an increasingly cost sensitive business - Maintain compliance and conformance to Health Canada regulations, internal specifications, and provincial metrics - Develop and enhance ERP system functionality to include dynamic multi-site manufacturing operations - Evaluate and optimize organizational structure to ensure scalability and build a culture of continuous improvement across all functions **PEOPLE MANAGEMENT** - Provide day-to-day oversight for direct reports in the department - Foster and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment to motivate staff - Identify, track and report on progress against organizational key performance goals - Coach director level leadership and strategic vision to improve overall company performance - Identify and remove obstacles that prevent staff from accomplishing tasks - Provide continuous performance feedback for direct reports through regular one-on-one meetings and/or dept meetings - Conduct formal performance reviews for staff as per the schedule defined by Human Resources (2x per year) - Actively participate in the recruitment process to grow the department when required - Proactively manage employee, process or equipment issues and escalating up as required **COMPETENCIES** - Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate and manage conflict at all levels of the organization from Associate to Sr. Director - Entrepreneurial attitude, innovative, and gritty: a willingness to develop creative solutions and pivot annual plans based on YTD assumptions vs realities on a quarterly basis - Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening - Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities - Exceptional time management and organization skills - Knowledge of industry best practices to ensure high product quality - Demonstrated ability in building and growing a highly accountable leadership team **QUALIFICATIONS** - Min 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations in a variety of roles including executive roles in operations with over $100MM in yearly revenue - Degrees and certifications in finance, business management, supply chain, and engineering are considered assets - Strong technical skills and knowledge/experience using leading ERP systems such as Dynamics 365, as well as Microsoft Excel - Experience in both production environments with heavy equipment and assembly operations in high sku count industries - Well-seasoned in managing a business through rapid scaling (>50% YoY growth) - Demonstrated ability to proactively initiate and maintain strongly influential business relationships with internal and external clients. - Able
