The **General Manager** role is a great opportunity for a proactive, motivated leader with operations management experience, preferably in a relevant sector such as Retirement Living. Our aim is to inspire individuals to live their lives to the best of their ability, with encouragement, strength, compassion, resilience, confidence, truth, and honesty.

**What we are looking for**:

- Knowledge and or experience working with individuals with chronic psychiatric illnesses/disabilities.
- Knowledge of medication, treatment plans and side effects.
- Someone to ensure internal/external policies and procedures and inspections are in adherence.
- Liaise with internal staff and consult with other community agencies to ensure appropriate communication and coordination is in effect.
- Facilitate/escort residents to appointments as needed.
- Managerial/office tasks-filing of documents related to residents and operations of the home.
- Assist with activities of daily living to residents.
- Collaborate, facilitate and encourage skill building, and resources to community programs.
- Assess referrals to the program in collaboration with community agencies and supports.
- Consult with community agencies and supports with resident transition to home, problem solving and solutions.
- Report to the senior manager and/or operations manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned in the interest of the agency.

**Requirements**:

- Demonstrate confidence, self direction and sound judgement working as an assistant manager/manager
- Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Strong ability to communicate concise, accurate information in verbal and written form
- Strong organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
- Certificate/training in relevant field an asset
- Vulnerable victim check
- First aid/cpr
- AODA
- Fire safety training
- Mental health first aid
- Food handlers
- WHMIS

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Collingwood, ON L9Y 3L4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Management: 1 year (preferred)
