**Job description**

implements programs in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy
- Leads children in activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, preparing craft materials, and providing opportunities for creative expression
- always provides excellent supervision and interaction with children including in all classrooms, sleep room, outside and playground activities
- Observes children in their surroundings and assesses individual and group needs
- Follows all centre policies as outlined in the Staff Policy Manual including Behaviour Management, Serious Occurrence, Anaphylactic, Technology Use, Fire Drills, Workplace Harassment and Violence and Health and Safety practices
- Participates in lunch, diapering, bathroom, and toilet training duties and promotes healthy and independent practice
- Takes the responsibility to maintain ratios in own rooms with the designated person in charge as well as monitoring ratios and adjusting.
- Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
- Delegates, in a professional manner, to team members, volunteers, and students and consistently assumes the appropriate level of leadership.
- Completes children’s Progress Reports as scheduled.
- Maintains confidentiality of clients, co-workers, and the centre as appropriate.
- Is sensitive to parent’s needs and maintains a supportive relationship with them on a professional level while following centre policies
- Judgement and initiative in the early identification of program deficiencies.
- Comfortable working with individual or groups of children.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.50-$19.50 per hour
