**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Marketing Coordinator Department: Marketing**

**Reports to**:General Manager

**Role**:While Calgary and Edmonton know us as “your local health food store”, with a relentless focus on our customers and new products, we think of ourselves as something more. As a
Marketing Coordinator, for Amaranth, you have an innate ability to ideate and translate that into action, executing on key deliverables to ensure annual marketing strategy and planning is adhered to. You are a leader that is always eager to learn. You have a keen attention to detail, are organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a team environment. You are connected to the marketing landscape in such a way that offers insights into optimization and returns on investment.(stole this from a previous marketing coordinator JD)

Time Requirements:

- Full-time hourly position
- Employees are entitled to a 30 minute scheduled unpaid meal break for all shifts 5 consecutive hours or longer.
- Must have a flexible working availability - willing to work days, evenings and weekends and assist with shift coverage as needed

Duties and Responsibilities:
**Business Development**:

- Drive growth and increase efficiency by improving and implementing departmental best practices
- Coordinate with marketing team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Help to devise marketing strategies and tactics to grow the business, drive new customer growth and increase average sale
- Evaluate current processes and update as necessary to increase efficiency and ROI
- Foster new ideas to increase brand awareness
- Collaborate with the marketing team, operational team and product teams on marketing initiatives

**In-store support**:

- Work with Amaranth’s graphic designer to create signage as per our brand guidelines and store needs
- Create signage for various pricing and promotion programs
- When possible, tell the story of the brand and products through the design and copy
- Help with in
- store decorations, displays and other in store design element
- Help achieve a cohesive brand image across stores that adheres to our Vision, mission and values
- and conveys our story to our customers

**Marketing Communications role support**
- Coordinate various social media programs as directed by the Marketing Communications role
- Visit store locations and assist with execution of marketing initiatives
- Assist with vacation coverage of Marketing Communications role including social media duties, customer communications (newsletters, replying to inquiries)

**Qualifications and Attributes**:

- Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
- Bachelor’s in marketing an asset
- Detail oriented and organized
- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising in store and out of store marketing and campaigns
- Previous experience coordinating between different business groups, project management and customer service/communication
- Canva and/or graphic design background an asset
- Previous experience with process creation and management an asset
- Ability to work with a flexible attitude in an dynamic environment
- Ability to think independently, prioritize, and complete projects in a timely manner
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and interest in organic and natural foods industry is an ass

**Basic Physical Requirements**:

- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Walk, bend and twist body, reach above and below shoulders.
- Repetitive use of hands for sorting papers, filing, and typing.
- Regular use of computers, keyboards, mouse, telephone, filing cabinets, and printers.
