**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a proactive and resourceful **HR Specialist** to support and advance our Human Resources function. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will focus on leading recruitment efforts while also driving a wide range of HR initiatives. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment. **The person will be responsible for**:
**Recruitment and Talent Acquisition**
- Build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
- Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
- Train and coach hiring managers and interview panels on effective hiring practices.

**Onboarding and Offboarding**
- Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, including orientation and training plans.
- Manage offboarding processes, ensuring compliance and a positive employee transition experience.

**HR Processes and Operations**
- Assist in managing employee benefits enrollment, and addressing inquiries.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality management requirements.

**Employee Engagement and Development**
- Plan and execute employee engagement activities, initiatives, and programs.
- Collaborate with leadership on training and development programs.
- Partner with team leads and managers to drive performance management processes.

**Process Improvement and Change Management**
- Identify opportunities for improving HR processes and implement innovative solutions.
- Support organizational change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Partner with the Operations team on projects that intersect HR and Operations.
- Serve as a trusted resource for team leads and managers on HR-related matters.
- Take ownership of additional initiatives as assigned by the HR Manager.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum 3-5 years in an HR generalist or specialist role, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, Alberta labour laws, and recruitment strategies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency with HR systems and tools; experience with BambooHR is a plus.

**Duration**: Full time Permanent (40 hours per week)

**Salary**: Commensurate to experience and qualifications
