**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Human Resources Specialist encompasses a variety of interesting
and challenging responsibilities ranging from routine to strategic. This is a dynamic position that requires
excellent client service and support skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff in a busy
independently all the while maintaining client confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism at all times.
They will need to utilize excellent communication, diplomacy, and organizational skills. The Human
Resources Specialist will play a key role in recruitment, file management, performance management
strategy, succession planning strategy, assist with developing an HRIS system, and provide accurate
advice/information to members of the Leadership Team.
**Employment Type**:
Part-time (25-30 hours/week), hours typically fall between Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
*Job Responsibilities:

**Recruitment and Onboarding**
- Respond to all employment inquiries**
- Create recruitment marketing materials, job postings, and job advertisements**
- Screen resumes, conduct pre-screen phone calls, and schedule face-to-face interviews for front
- line staff**
- Complete reference checks and any other checks required prior to hiring**
- Prepare offer letters and terms of employment**
- Conduct weekly onboarding for new hourly staff, salary staff, and contractors**
- Utilize DocuSign for onboarding documentation**
**Administration**
- Maintain employee and contractor files to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and in
the proper order
- Assist the organization in developing a paperless system for all employee-related information
- Track employee turnover and departures to provide accurate information to the Leadership
Team
- Conduct exit interviews as required
- Create and distribute monthly training compliance letters
- Lead Disability Services manager meetings and track meeting minutes
- Assist with the development of Ceridian Dayforce as a tool for onboarding, staff learning and
development, and performance management
- Other duties as assigned
**Strategy**
- Assist the organization in developing policies as required**
- Respond to employee relation matters and direct inquiries to appropriate individuals**
- Work with the Director of Finance and Operations in implementing succession planning and
performance management strategies**
- Work with the Director of Finance and Administration in updating all HR-related manuals and
policies to adhere to best practices and align with YWCA values**
- Spearhead the development of the organization-wide IDEA policy**
**Qualifications**:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Administration, or an equivalent
field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role
- A CHRP, CPHR, CRS, or equivalent is an asset
- A sound understanding of YWCA Edmonton and other community resources
- Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Intervention Record Check
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and Docusign software is an asset
- Excellent verbal, written, and communications skills with diverse groups and individual personalities
- Ability to work in an efficient manner and adapt to changing priorities
- Able to work independently when needed and to problem solve
- High level of professionalism and adheres to confidentiality
