A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and non-clinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users. Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Additional programs that also support patient care and information, include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record. eHealth is also responsible for the administration of various pieces of legislation to manage the registration of/changes to all vital event records (e.g. birth, marriage, death, etc.), registration of legal name changes, registration of adoptions, and for maintaining the provincial health registry for health services eligibility and distribution of health services cards.
The eHealth teams engage directly with health system partners and other stakeholders both provincially and federally to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
**About the role**:
This position reports to the Manager, Community Care Programs. The work of eHealth is accomplished through strategic planning, procurement, implementation, ownership, operation and management of the Saskatchewan Electronic Health Record as well as associated provincial components and infrastructure. eHealth’s role is two-fold: (1) Lead Saskatchewan’s efforts and investments toward building an electronic health record for each resident and (2) coordinate, operate and maintain other selected IT systems on behalf of healthcare delivery organizations in the province.
To put these solutions in place, we are looking for highly skilled business analyst with a team player attitude and customer focus who takes pride in knowing the work they do has a direct impact on the lives of patients, their families and our community. The type of work will vary every day, but will revolve primarily around documenting business processes and requirements, and specifications including providing support and training for technology solutions.
**Typical daily duties**:
- Gather and document business processes, requirements, and specifications;
- Liaise with end users, customers, and third party service providers;
- Provide support and training for technology solutions;
- Ensure that recommendations include sufficient controls;
- Identify opportunities where business processes can be enhanced through the implementation of technology or by other techniques;
- Participate in and lead projects as needed to ensure that services are planned for and smoothly transitioned into support services.
**What we are looking for**:
**To qualify for this position, you will have knowledge and/or experience in the following**:
- Knowledge of database concepts, theories and principles;
- Knowledge of requirements analysis and solution design principles;
- Health sector related business knowledge is required;
- Writing a variety of technical material (user and systems requirements);
- A strong technical background, and experience with facilitation and training;
- ITIL Certification is considered an asset.
The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related area of study. An IIBA Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA), with an equivalent combination of experience, may be considered. In addition to educational requirements, you will have at least 3 years of experience working as a Business Analyst or similar in an integrated support environment. An equivalent combination of experience, education and training may be considered.
