Assistant Project Manager

**Position**: Assistant Project Manager **Reports to**:Senior Project Manager

We are looking for a **Assistant Project Manager** to join our Projects and Engineeringteam Our Assistant Project Manager will manage the day-to-day aspects of company projects and will be accountable for the timeliness of capital projects. You will become a valued part of the constantly evolving Projects and Engineering team and contribute to their success.

- **Experience**_
- You have at least 2 years overseeing trades/sub-contractors in the Food or Construction Industry
- You have hands-on experience overseeing projects from inception to completion
- You have experience dealing with project administration
- **Nice-to-Have**_
- Licensed Electrical/Mechanical Technical Graduate
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineer
- Pasteurizer/Power Engineer Certificate
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment

**things you will do**
- Work with the projects and engineering teams to drive and manage capital project installations
- Ensure Health and Safety and Quality requirements are fully met on all projects
- Actively participate in strategic business planning, contract negotiations with vendors, project budgets, and more
- Oversee the work schedules of contractors and assigned personnel and evaluate the effectiveness of work processes
- Oversee construction and commissioning on-site, providing direction where necessary
- Complete equipment commissioning documentation on every project
- Order parts & equipment where necessary

- May on occasion work at various times including evenings and weekends, as the job requires
- May on occasion travel around the world, as the job requires
- ____________________________________________D**etailed Description of Duties**:

- Work within the Projects team to drive and manage capital project installations
- Ensure Areas of Responsibility meet goals and objectives by providing systems, resources, and training as needed
- Ensure that appropriate resources are provided to complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Plans and Executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Work with OHS Manager to ensure all aspects of projects meet or exceed Health and Safety requirements
- Ensure contractors follow all Health and Safety and Quality standards
- Provides project management
- Participates in the contract negotiations and maintenance of ongoing relationships with a variety of vendors
- Forecast, develop, and administer project budgets
- Interface with all other departments to ensure a cooperative effort
- Oversees the work schedules of assigned personnel to meet completion dates, technical specifications, and budget limits
- Research equipment details online and via phone for current and upcoming projects
- Measure, mark layouts and verify surrounding equipment placement
- All other duties as assigned

**Salary**: From $72,000.00 per year
